Welcome to the second edition of the Galactic Scientific newsletter!

We had a great time at The RACI Congress 2026.
Galactic had a fantastic time exhibiting at the RACI Congress in Perth at the beginning of July.
The Congress gave us a wonderful opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet potential customers and suppliers, and have some great conversations about scientific equipment, servicing and the changing needs of laboratories across Australia.
It was also great to see so many of the suppliers we work closely with represented at the Congress. Events like this remind us how valuable strong industry relationships are—not only for Galactic, but for the customers and laboratories we collectively support.
We shared our booth with PEAK Scientific and ran a competition to win a Ninja Slushie Machine. Congratulations to Finn from the Curtin Chemistry Club, whose name was drawn as our very lucky winner!
A definite highlight was the Wednesday night Congress dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the entertainment and, most of all, the people. Who knew chemists could dance so well?
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, entered the competition or simply came over for a chat. We came home with new connections, fresh opportunities and plenty of positive energy—and we are already looking forward to the next one.
Galactic in the Field: Spreading Our Wings
Our engineers have been spreading their wings lately, with plenty of work taking them beyond the workshop and into remote sites across Western Australia.
Flying out to site is something our team does about once a month, travelling to different locations to service, repair and support scientific equipment where it is needed. The change of scenery gives our engineers the opportunity to work in different environments, broaden their experience and tackle some interesting new challenges.
Our team can usually be spotted in their distinctive blue hi-vis. Galactic engineers do like to stand out! Although, as this photo proves, sometimes site requirements call for a temporary change of colour.
Remote work takes preparation, flexibility and a fair amount of self-reliance. We are proud of the way our engineers adapt, represent Galactic and keep essential scientific equipment operating—even in some of WA’s more far-flung locations.

It brings together Galactic’s broad range of capabilities, from equipment selection, sales and installation support through to training, servicing, repairs, parts and consumables. Most importantly, it explains how we work alongside our customers throughout the life of their scientific equipment.
